Our Juror: Vaune Peck of Monmouth University’s Center for the Arts
As Director of the Center for the Arts Ms. Peck is responsible for facilitating over 160 annual arts events
for Monmouth University that include music, dance, theatre, visual, literary and cinematic arts, many
accompanied by educational outreach programs. She has 35 years of experience in arts administration, 28
devoted to developing and directing a comprehensive presenting program for Monmouth University.
Previous to her tenure at the university she worked in the gallery field and was an independent art
consultant for private and corporate collectors. She also co-owned a full service arts consultancy where
she assisted collectors with acquisitions and provided appraisal and framing services. She draws upon that
experience curating exhibitions for the university’s Pollak Gallery, many of which complement the
Performing Arts Series and other programs on campus. Over the decades she has served as a Trustee for
the Monmouth County and Long Branch Arts Councils, and on many committees devoted to advancing
the arts. A painter, sculptor, photographer, and muralist, she holds a BA in Fine Arts & Advertising
Design ’87 and a Masters in Liberal Arts ‘2010 from Monmouth University, where she was also honored
with a one-woman retrospective titled “Natural Tendencies.”
