Delivery of accepted work: Friday, February 21 from 1 to 7 pm and
Saturday, February 22 from 10 am to 1 pm
Opening Reception: Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm
Exhibit Dates:
Wednesday to Saturday, March 8 to April 11 from 1 to 5 pm

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

•     Painting

ALL AWARDS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE OPENING RECEPTION ON SATURDAY, MARCH 8 from 5-7pm!

 

Conditions and artist instructions

  •    Two-dimensional pieces must be wired and ready for hanging.
  •    Maximum size for two-dimensional work is 48” in any direction.
  •    Framed two-dimensional pieces over 36 inches in any direction normally displayed under glass must have Plexiglas instead of glass.
  •    25 lb. maximum weight for work intended to be hung on the walls.
  •     Three-dimensional work is limited to 60 lb. For free-standing work, pedestals must be provided by the artist.
  •    Work delivered to the BelmarArts must be the same pieces for which jpegs were submitted.  No Substitutions.  Accepted pieces and are committed for the duration of the show.
  •    Work must be hand-delivered to the BelmarArts.  The BelmarArts is not equipped to receive or return parcels sent by mail or delivery service.

BELMARARTS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY WORK THAT IS NOT WIRED OR OTHERWISE DISPLAY READY, OR IS OUTSIDE THE SIZE AND WEIGHT SPECIFICATIONS LISTED.

Commission

Art sold is subject to a 30% commission fee. If not for sale, put NFS clearly on form and label.  Sales tax will be added to the price of work sold.  Remittance of NJ Sales Tax will be handled by BelmarArts.

Liability disclaimer

BelmarArts will make every effort to treat your artwork with care. However, work is submitted at the artist’s risk. BelmarArts and the Art Show Committee will not be held liable for lost or damaged work. Artists are responsible for insuring their work from delivery to pick-up.

Media/Press release

BelmarArts reserves the right to use digital images of accepted and exhibited artworks for the sole purpose of media and website PR and advertising for the JAS10 Art Show.

Pick-up of exhibited work: Friday, April 11 from 5-7 pm and Saturday, April 12 from 10 am to 1 pm

Late Pick-up Penalty

Work must be picked up on the day and time advertised. A $1/day fee will be charged per piece left after the time of pickup. If you cannot pick up your work during the advertised time, you must arrange for a friend to pick it up. Work left beyond two weeks after the advertised pick-up date will be considered abandoned. Abandoned work will become the property of the BelmarArts and will be sold at auction to benefit the BelmarArts.

Margaret O’Reilly is the Curator of Fine Art at the New Jersey State Museum in Trenton.  Ms. O’Reilly joined the State Museum staff in 1988, and took on the curatorial role in 1997.At the State Museum, she has organized over 90 exhibitions including a complete re-installation of the Museum’s art collection – American Perspectives: The Fine Art Collection; the critically well-received exhibitions, Dahlia Elsayed: Hither and Yon (2013-14), Jon Naar: Signature Photography (2013), Reality & Artifice – New Jersey Arts Annual: Fine Art (2010), Transcendent: Toshiko Takaezu in the State Museum Collection (2009-10), Women’s Works (2002), and Mel Leipzig: A Retrospective (1998); as well as Vision & Voice: Artists in Dialogue with Contemporary Poetry (2005), and many New Jersey Artist Series exhibitions. Ms. O’Reilly received her MA in painting from Kean University, and her work has been included in numerous exhibitions in the region.  Her research and exhibition interests echo those found in her own creative output and include issues of chance, identity and mortality, among others, while the formal qualities of particular interest are density, repetition and serial structure.Ms. O’Reilly serves on the Board of Trustees of the New Jersey Association of Museums and is the New Jersey representative on the Board of Directors of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums. 

Eligible work

The 10th Annual Jersey Shore Juried Art Show is open to artists in all media, ages 17 and over.

All works entered must be original creations by the artist, not previously exhibited at BelmarArts.

A maximum of two pieces may be submitted. Juror’s choice is final. Acceptance into show is not guaranteed.

Online Entry form and fees guidelines:

Entry fee payable online to BelmarArts via credit card or PayPal (non-refundable).

$10 per piece (BelmarArts members – maximum 2 pieces)

$15 per piece (non-members – maximum 2 pieces)

Entry forms must be accompanied by payment by February 8 in order to be juried.

For the first time this year, all entries will be submitted ONLINE as jpegs beginning on January 11 and ending February 8.

Digital Image Specifications:

Image files should be at 100 dpi at roughly 7” on the longest dimension, with a total file size of no larger than 1 MB.  Your .jpeg should include only the image of your artwork, exclusive of mats and frames.
