Prefer a more informal learning experience? Join one of our Groups. Share experiences, tips and practices in such diverse areas as photography, creative writing and costume model drawing.

Check out the list below for current groups, if you don’t see what you’re looking for, please let us know what group you are interested in starting! All groups are facilitated by a BAC member volunteer and meetings are free for BAC members! Guests are warmly welcomed for any two meetings but after that membership purchase is required.
critique group

NEW GROUP! Art Review & Critique Group meets the 3rd Thursday every month from 6:30 – 8:30pm

Whether you have been making art for a week or years the goal of this group is simple – to improve your art work – both technically and creatively in a comfortable, encouraging environment. Everyone’s taste is relative; however there are certain characteristic of any artwork (photography, painting, sculpture, etc) that can be evaluated as to the artist’s success at conveying the intended message or meaning of their work. The group will give feedback on art based on defined protocol for your discipline. All media is welcome. If you would like to attend, please email Beverly@visionsworkshops.net by the Wednesday before so we have an idea of how many reviews we will have each month. We encourage you to bring physical examples, however digital images are acceptable. Depending on the attendance at any given meeting there may not be time for everyone’s work to be reviewed. This is a community of artist sharing their thoughts may just be what you need to strengthen your creativity and enrich your technical skills! Photography Group meets on the 1st Monday of the month @ 7:30pm

Photo Group

The BelmarArts Photography Group is a casual, friendly group welcoming photographers of all skill levels, from novice to expert, to share their photos and knowledge. The aim of the group is for members to enjoy viewing one and others artwork each month and for the experienced photographers to discuss and share technical and creative thoughts with other members. Whether you use your phone, a point & shoot camera or a DSLR -please bring your photos (and a friend!) to share each month! Questions or suggestions for this group? Email us!

 

 

Creative Writers GroupCreative Writing Group meets the 1st Tuesday of the month from 7-9pm

Whether you have always written or always wanted to write, this group may be for you. The goal is simple: To improve your writing, whether you want to be published or simply stretch your creative muscles. Give and receive feedback to works in progress, discuss current markets, exchange publishing news and information and meet other members of your tribe. Writing can be lonely; the camaraderie of a supportive group with common goals may be just the thing to kick your writing up to the next level. Join us!

New members, please observe at your first meeting. Please read and be familiar with our critique guidelines before participating. If you would like to read at an upcoming meeting, please email John to be put on the reading list and bring approximately 10 copies of your work to the meeting; limit is five DS pages. SM_IRA199Costumed Model Group meets on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month from 7-9:30 pm

The Costumed Model Group works on a single 2.5-hour pose with a costumed model each month. All media is welcome. This group is highly recommended for painters or other techniques that require longer poses.

As we need to cover the cost of the model, we ask you to RSVP by the Monday prior to the Wednesday session to reserve your spot at $15 for  members / $20 for guests. (Model fees are not considered a member benefit, only the group meeting) Reserve your spot by emailing joanwallace144@aol.com!

Yarn Bombed Bike 8/8/14 Meeting

Our Yarn Bombed Bike Project now is part of the Art Bike collection at Second Life Bikes in Asbury Park!

 

Do you stitch, glue, weave, fold or are just intrigued by mixing media? All types of fiber artists (paper, fabric, yarn) and experience levels are welcome to attend!

This friendly group meets bi-monthly to share tips and tricks for all types of fiber arts and to work on their own projects! Please bring in your latest work in progress to work on while sharing your inspirations with other fiber artists. Suggestions are always welcome & registration is not required!
This group will meet next on Friday, June 9 from 1-3pm.
