Fiber Fridays at BelmarArts
This shared interest group meets bi-monthly to share tips and tricks for all types of fiber arts and a make & take project!
Please bring in your latest project for show and tell or your favorite book or notion to share with other fiber artists!
This group will meet on Friday, September 23 from 1-3pm and we will be creating a a party hat for “Alan the Robot” and a “gratitude” tree for the upcoming show! Bring an apron or smock to cover your clothes.
All types of fiber artists (paper, fabric, yarn) and experience levels are welcome to attend. No registration is required. Free for BelmarArts members! Guests are warmly welcome for any two shared interest group meetings but after that membership purchase is required.

Past meetings have included:
January 23, 2015- Many hands make light work! We made 11-no-sew fleece blankets for BlankieDepo.org!
November 21-We made paper snowflakes and embellished cards
September 26-Our project this meeting was fabric & paper beads. You roll strips of fabric or paper around a wood skewer, tack it down with a dab of glue and then embellish with beads, yarn or threads. Tiffany made a beautiful, double strand necklace with hers!
Solvy Scarves on 6/27/14: Step one is to lay fibers out on a piece of Sulky Solvy which is a water soluble stabilizer, add another layer of Solvy making a “sandwich”, pin & randomly sew through all three layers to secure the fibers using a complimentary thread. Rinse out Solvy in tepid water, blot dry on a towel and enjoy!
Needle Felting Mini- Workshop with Lise Gayle on 5/9/14: Lise supplied us with “try-it” felting supplies to create earrings and other fun objects!
