Don't throw that away!
Join artist Lisa Bagwell and her growing collections of plastics, odd bits and items destined for the trash bin and make something! Inspiration strikes in the strangest places when faced with sorted items we see every day and the potential for unique one of a kind works is high. This is the environment of experimentation, play and "no mistakes only happy accidents". Explore the materials, feel the joy of the moment of decision then get to work. This workshop is suitable for all ages though we ask persons under the age of 12 to be accompanied by an adult.
Instructor provides inspirational collections of materials, glue guns, wire, pliers, cardboard and other simple tools and materials for construction plus over 15 years of trial and error, self-taught on the job, experience-based education.
Lisa Bagwell has been building with trash since 2003 when she was sickened by the waste generated at her place of work during mealtimes. There she began her trash art crusade building strange creations with the intention of drawing awareness to our wasteful consumer lifestyle. Since then she has been working with trash, diverted from household garbage and collected from the beach and streets.
