The Belmar Arts Center is launching a brand new Songwriter’s Workshop; a creative space for songwriters of all levels to share original music, develop material, and receive thoughtful feedback in a supportive listening-room environment.
There will be 3 Tuesday night sessions this summer each from 7:00–9:00 PM, attend one or all! This new program focuses on the craft of songwriting in its most direct and personal form—stripped down, honest, and collaborative.
Hosted by Composer Steve Peckman, each evening blends performance and conversation in a focused but relaxed setting, with a special guest songwriter (TBA) joining each session; who will offer constructive, real-world feedback and also perform selections from their own work.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
* Share original songs in an intimate setting
* Songwriters will present original material—self-accompanied, a cappella, or in progress.
* Tell the story, context and process behind each song and get some constructive feedback
* Receive feedback from guest songwriter
This workshop is designed as both a creative incubator and a community gathering—ideal for songwriters looking to refine their craft, test new material, or simply connect with other writers in a meaningful way.
Registration: $5 in advance per session - space is limited.
