2019 Happy Art:
An Homage to Bob Ross
May 10-June 1, 2019
With his dreamy voice and his calm manner, Bob Ross hosted the PBS show “The Joy of Painting” from 1983-1994. Although Ross died 20 years ago, he continues to be admired by his original viewers as well as a new generation that has made him a pop-culture and Internet sensation. Ross’ philosophy that there is an artist hidden in each of us was the inspiration for this exhibit.
Entered works could be of any medium (not just painting) and any subject that celebrates the joy of making art, especially ones that utilize the Bob Ross trademark statement that there are no mistakes in art, only “Happy Accidents.”
Captions coming soon.
Additional works in the exhibit were paintings done in three Bob Ross workshops conducted at BAC by certified Bob Ross instructor, Mark Saenger CRI.
