Birds have been inspiring people of all kinds for centuries. Musicians, poets, writers, producers, painters, sculptors, naturalists, even CEO’s of technology companies (remember Twitter!), have honored our feathered friends in their work.
Now it’s your turn to share with us how birds inspire you to create.
This year’s bird show theme is ‘Birds of a Feather”. The saying “birds of a feather flock together” is an English proverb meaning that people who share similar attributes or interests tend to mutually associate. We wish to invite artists who share a similar artistic interest in birds to enter this year’s show. The show will NOT be juried and $200 in prizes will be awarded for a) Best In Show, b) Most Creative use of Medium and c) Most Unique Representation of the Theme "Birds of a Feather."
For those who might enjoy an extra dose of bird inspiration, The American Littoral Society has agreed to lead our artists for a guided bird walk on Sandy Hook on Saturday Oct. 7th at 8:00 am. Meet at the Littoral Society Headquarters on Sandy Hook at 7:45 am if you wish to join. No charge but please rsvp to Sue Crosby at [email protected].
All inquiries should be directed to the Chair of this show, Sue Crosby at [email protected].
