The Plein Air Artist Group is all about leaving the 4 walls of the studio and coming together to experience the freedom of drawing and painting outdoors.
All artist mediums, genres and skill levels are welcome – Watercolors, Acrylics, Pastels, Oils, Charcoal, Pencil
The BAC Plein Air Shared Interest Group Welcomes the 2025 Season!
Plein Air Painting is a French expression meaning “in the open air,” and refers to the art of painting outdoors. The term was first used to describe The French Impressionists as they attempted to achieve the “intense impression of outdoor daylight in the open air”. Since then, the term “en plein air” has been used to describe all artists who paint outside.
